Vanzara and others to be questioned in fake encounter case
Ahmedabad, May 15 (UNI) The city Sessions Court today granted permission to CID (Crime) to interrogate three suspended senior IPS officers, including D G Vanzara, in the encounter of Tulsiram Prajapati in December 2006.
Tulsiram, alias Praful alias Sameer, a close associate of Sohrabuddin Sheikh, who was charged with murder, extortion and kidnapping, was killed by Vanzara and his team near Ambaji in North-Gujarat on December 28, 2006.
The City Session Court Judge P B Desai accepted the application of Crime branch officer R K Patel and granted permission to record the statements of Vanzara, Rajkumar Pandyan and Dineshkumar, an IPS officer of Rajasthan Police, in Tulsiram's encounter case.
Judge Desai has also ordered the CID (Crime) team to give a prior notice of 36 hours before questioning them.
All three IPS officers are presently behind bars in the Soharabuddin Sheikh fake encounter case.
