New Delhi, May 15 (UNI) Top golfers will be seen in action in the Rs 30 lakh prize money inagural PGTI Players Golf Championship to be held at Chandigarh from May 28 to 31.
The Championship is a part of series of four zonal events, wherein each zone will host one event, every season.
Describing it as a good move, ace golfer Jyoti Randhawa said, ''This is a step in the right direction and will make the Indian tour reach the level of other international tours. With an attractive purse, these four events will surely attract more professionals and also encourage amateurs into the professional fold.'' European Tour regular Shiv Kapur said,''the Championships will draw professionals from all over Asia, making the Indian tour more exciting and challenging. It will also encourage youngsters to take up golf professionally.'' According to PGTI president Gautam Thapar,''A revolutionary concept, the PGTI Players Championships will herald a new era for Indian professional golf.
