Moily demands explanation from BJP on spread of terrorism
Bangalore, May 15 (UNI) Congress leader Veerappa Moily today said terrorism had spread to the main land only after the demolition of the Babri Masjid and demanded an explanation from the BJP for its active role in the demolition of the monument.
Speaking to reporters here he said the terrorists had limited their activities to Jammu and Kashmir prior to the demolition of the Babri Masjid in 1992.
He also said the spread of terrorism in the main land of the country was due to the demolition of the Masjid, as all the major attacks were carried out only thereafter. He demanded an explanation from the people who took active role in it.
Both the BJP and the Congress had been making the terrorism issue as the main plank of the Assembly election in the state, keeping aside the local issues and are attacking each other for its spread in the country, particularly in Karnataka.
Mr Moily also demanded an apology from Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi for branding Karnataka as the 'hub of terrorism' in the country.
