Lucknow, May 15 (UNI) An International sports Garden will be developed in Pune to maintain integrity amongst the sportsmen.
Preliminary work for the garden would start after conclusion of the Commonwealth youth games, which are to be held in Pune from October 12 to 18, the newly elected Indian weightlifting federation general secretary B R Gulati said.
He said about 71 countries were likely to participate during the seven day games and each countries representatives had been asked to bring atleast one sappling or seed along with the water of their brethren rivers.
Seeds brought by the sportsmen would be shown in the garden and with the water a fountain would be developed, this would develop an emotional link and help in promoting International sports intrigrity among the participant.
Mr Gulati said nine events-- Athletics, Boxing, Badminton, Shooting, Swimming, Table Tennis, Lawn Tennis, Weigtlifting and Wrestling competitions will be held in the commonwealth youth games Mr Gulati was sworned in as general secretary after the seat felt vacant with resignation of Mr Balbir Singh Bhatia.
