Bihar: BDO arrested with Rs 50,000 bribe

Samastipur, May 15: The state vigilance sleuths today arrested the Shivaji Nagar Block Development Officer (BDO) in the district while accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000.

Tapeshwar Singh, Mukhiya of Shankarpur panchayat had complained the vigilance department that BDO Tanwirul Qamar was demanding Rs one lakh bribe to clear the sanctioned amount under Indra Awas Yojna and Mukhmantri Awas Yojna The sleuths laid a trap and arrested the BDO from his house at Dharampur mohalla under Mufossil police station in the district while accepting an advance payment of Rs 50,000 this morning.

The arrested would be produced in the special vigilance court at the bureau headquarter in Patna.
