Jammu, May 14 (UNI) Two militants were gunned down by the police while one person was arrested by the security forces along with 9.5 kg RDX in twin bordering districts of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources here today said.
Sources said acting on tip-off police launched a search operation in Gandoh area of Doda district and eliminated two militants late last night.
''One of the militants has been identified as Talik Hussain alias Farad Mouchi resident Chantian while identity of another militant was yet to be ascertained,'' sources told UNI, adding that one AK 47 rifle and two pouches were recovered from the slain militants.
Meanwhile, one person was arrested by the security forces in Rajouri district and 9.5-kg of RDX was recovered from his possession.
''Police and 83 Rashtriya Rifles launched a search operation in village Manjos Khari in tehsil Budhal and recovered 9.5 kilogram RDX and six UBGL grenades from the possession of one Mohammad Shafi, resident of Charwari,'' they said.
However, police and troops of 38 Rashtriya Rifles today launched a joint search operation at Gambir Muglian and recovered 128 AK rounds, 132 Pika rounds, 171, 9mm rounds and two hand grenades, official sources added.
