Shillong, May 14 (UNI) A three-day 'Round Table Conference on sixty years of North East Revisiting the Experience' will be held here from tomorrow to discuss the root cause of problems facing the Northeast.
Chairman of the 'Resurgent India' project of the Divya Jeevan Foundation society and former Rajya Sabha member from Meghalaya, Dr B B Dutta said 60 years after independence the entire region was facing various problems.
The three-day conference will look into the causes of such problems and participants would share their views on how to address the issues through collective efforts of the civil society.
The NE states are facing problems like insurgency besides, socio-cultural and political problems and the conference would look into the cause of such problems.
The conference is the second of its kind in the country as part of the 'Resurgent India' project. The first such conference was held at Kolkata on 'Development of Eastern India Strategic Issues in National Perspective', the chairman stated.
