Terrorism would not be allowed foment in MP: Chouhan
Bhopal, May 14 (UNI) Madhya Prdaesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today strongly condemned serial bomb blasts that rocked Jaipur last night and blamed the soft approach of the Centre behind these incidents.
''Terrorism could be dealt with tough legislations such as the Prevention of Terrorism Act but the Centre scrapped the legislation.
Besides, it was not letting states to enact such legislations,'' Mr Chouhan told reporters here after the conclusion of the two-day meeting of the party state executive committee.
He said the district administration was exercising vigil in the wake of Jaipur blasts. Such incidents would not be allowed to foment in the state.
The Chief Minister held discussion over the situation with senior officials last night and this morning. The government was vigilant about intelligence inputs from the Centre.
On whether there was information about terrorist attacks in Madhya Pradesh, he said it was not appropriate to state anything about this but police was exercising alertness and security has been beefed up at various places.
