NTUM to stage dharna in interest of muster roll workers
Aizawl, May 14 (UNI) The National Trade Union of Mizoram has threatened the state government to stage a dharna tomorrow if their demand to regularise muster roll workers was not fulfilled.
''We will organise a total bandh here on May 28 if the demands were not fulfilled,'' NTUM president Chhingliana Ralte told UNI here today.
The NTUM has been demanding the regularisation of muster roll workers and to provide Rs five lakh compensation to each worker.
The union has alleged that they have been deprived of their rights of 25 per cent posts reservation under the MR Regularisation Scheme published in the government gazette.
It demanded regularisation of all muster roll workers under the power and electricity department and PHE's water transmission division before they are privatised.
Moreover, the union demanded creation of skilled-I posts in PWD and other departments and MR retirement scheme for the departments which do not have the same.
