Nagpur records 44 degrees Celsius, hottest place in country
Nagpur, May 14 (UNI) The blistering heat wave in Vidarbha region continued unabated today with the mercury soaring to 44 degrees celsius in Nagpur, making it the hottest place in the country.
Akola in the region recorded a maximum temperature of 41.5 degrees Celsius, while Wardha, Wasim and Amaravati registered 41.8, 40.2 and 40.5 degrees respectively.
In north Maharashtra, Jalgaon city recorded a maximum temperature of 41 degrees, according to met office sources.
There was no respite from the sweltering conditions and people preferred to remain indoor during the afternoons.
