Bhopal, May 14 (UNI) The four-day Lata Mangeshkar award ceremony begins at Indore tomorrow and this year's award will be bestowed on famous playback singer Nitin Mukesh on May 18.
The ceremony will begin with state-level light music competition at Santosh auditorium. Playback singer Alka Yagnik would render songs on May 16, Sudesh Bhosle on May 17, while the award recipient Nitin Mukesh will give his presentation on May 18.
The award, instituted by the Madhya Pradesh government, is alternatively given to playback singing and music direction, official sources said.
So far 23 people were bestowed with this award. The recipients include: Naushad, Kishore Kumar, Jaidev, Manna De, Khayyam, Asha Bhosle, Laxmikant-Pyarelal, Yesudas, Rahul Dev Burman, Sandhya Mukherjee, Anil Biswas, Talat Mehmood, Kalyanji-Anandji, Jagjit Singh, Ilaya Raja, S P Balasubramaniam, Bhupen Hazarika, Mahendra Kapoor, Ravindra Jain, Suresh Wadkar, A R Rehman, Kavita Krishnamurthy and Hridaynath Mangeshkar.
