Indian group seeks Malaysian Government contracts
Kuala Lumpur, May 14 : The Petaling Jaya-based Malaysian Indian Contractors Association (PKIM) has called on the Government to give jobs to Indian contractors.
PKIM secretary-general N. Gopal Krishnan said the association had submitted a request to Works Minister Mohamed Zin Mohamed to consider placing small Indian contractors in a class similar to Class F, which is given to Bumiputra contractors.
The association wants 10 percent of the contracts for Indian contractors, including those given out by government-linked companies, district offices and municipal councils, The Star reports.
