Journalists take out protest march over Bhatinda incident

Jalandhar, May 14 (UNI) Media persons here today took out a protest march against the attack on journalists covering zila parishad and block samiti elections in Bhatinda on May 12.

The protesting scribes wearing black badges, carrying placards and banners marched from the Press Club to the secretariat where a memorandum addressed to the Governor was submitted to the Deputy Commissioner Ajit Singh Pannu.

Expressing shock over the incident, the DC said that the memorandum would be immediately faxed to the Governor.

Later, it was decided that all media persons would wear black badges till the guilty were punished.
