New Delhi, May 14 (UNI) Following the serial blasts in Jaipur, a traders body has offered to provide private security in crowded markets across the country.

The Confederstion of All India Traders (CAIT), in a communication to Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil and Minister of Home for state Shri Prakash Jaiswal, has offered assistance of trade bodies for maintaing extra security and surveillance in and around commercial areas and markets throughout the country.

The CAIT said in the wake of dearth of requisite police force in states, traders' bodies of commercial markets can play a vital role in providing extra security measures by way of deploying private security guards and modern surveillance system.

The organisation cited the example of Karol Bagh Market in Delhi where with help of local trade bodies the police has installed CCTV and deployed security guards.

CAIT claimed traders were worried because not only their investment, but their lives and lives of the customers were in danger due to lack of adequate security in markets.
