By Staff

Mumbai, May 14 (UNI) The indecision over the venue for the DLF Indian Premier League final was over today with the Mumbai Cricket Association deciding to hold the final at the D Y Patil stadium in Nerul on June 1.

The Mumbai Cricket Association managing committee met today under the chairmanship of Sharad Pawar and it was decided to hold the final at the Nerul stadium.

Sharad Pawar speaking to reporters after the meeting said that it was decided to hold the final at the D Y Patil stadium, since a lot of people from neighbouring cities like Pune and Nashik have shown interest in witnessing the match and have inquired about the same. Since D Y Patil stadium is more convenient and also as it has a capacity of 55000, about 15000 more than the Wankhede stadium, it was decided to hold the final at the D Y Patil stadium.

Pawar, however added that the matches to be played on May 16 and 21 and the two semifinals on May 30 and 31 will be played at the Wankhede stadium.
