Indian carriers flew 3.89 m domestic passengers last month

New Delhi, May 14 (UNI) Indian scheduled airlines carried 3.89 million domestic passengers in April 2008-- an increase of more than 300,000 over the same month last year-- with Jet Airways and Jet Lite accounting for nearly 30 per cent of total share.

The share of Air India decreased from 781,000 in April 2007 to 586,000 last month, according to the latest official figures available today.

During April 2008, Jet Airways carried 839,000 domestic passengers (21.6 per cent), Air India 586,000 passengers (15.1 per cent), Kingfisher 558,000 (14.3 per cent), Deccan 530,000 (13.6 per cent), IndiGo 446,000 (11.5 per cent), SpiceJet 394,000 (10.1 per cent) Jet Lite 311,000 (8 per cent), GoAir 180,000 (4.6 per cent) and Paramount 48,000 (1.2 per cent).
