Lucknow, May 14 (UNI) Over 50 people were killed, while many others sustained wounds in duststorm-related incidents in Uttar Pradesh today.
The duststorm that hit the state this afternoon, claimed several lives in its related incidents.
According to police, till now, death of seven people have come to fore in Mathura district, followed by Etah 10, Etawah six, Chitrakoot and Unnao five, Hathras and Kannauj four, Mainpuri three.
Death of two persons was reported from Aurraiya, Ferozabad and Amroha each, while one each succumbed in Aligarh, Ballia, Fatehpur and Sitapur.
Nearby 80 huts were gutted at village Sansarpur in Lucknow's Bakshi-ka-Talaab area. Besides, several cattles were charred after spread due to high velocity winds.
In Etawah, fire broke at as many as 22 places. At least five persons were charred and over 20 others injured in a fire incident at Chaubiya village.
Reports from Mainpuri says 12 villages were blazing in fire.
Property worth Rs two crore was reduced to rubble in this duststorm.
Four, including a five-yr-old child, were burried, following wall collapse incidents in Baasdeeh area of Ballia.
Reports from Mathura confirms death of five labourers, who were standing below a hut for shelter in rain. They died after the hut collapsed in Khanjarabas village. Three others were injured in this incident. Two women were also burried alive under debris of a dilapidated wall in separate incidents reported from Mathura.
In Etah, six members of a family were charred after fire broke into their house due to strong winds. The deceased included three children and their mother.
Power supply and communication services also remained suspended for several hours in the deadly duststorm.
