Cong Govt 'magnanimous' even to Naidu: CM
Hyderabad, May 14 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today claimed that even his predecessor N Chandrababu Naidu had benefited by his government's policy.
The ''Heritage Foods'', owned by M Naidu was provided a subsidy of Rs 78 lakhs for a cold storage unit, he said, adding ''I am not resorting to discrimination towards anyone unlike my predecessor''.
Alleging that the previous TDP Government used to extend benefits only to TDP sympathisers, he said the Congress government had so far provided houses and pensions under the INDIRAMMA programme to over 70 lakh beneficiaries and ensured bank linkages to 90 lakh women of self-help groups, without any discrimination.
Dr Reddy said his Government would distribute six lakh acres to landless poor this year, in addition to the 6.5 lakh acres already given to them in the last four years.
