New Delhi, May 14 : The Indian Army on Wednesday asked for flag-meeting with their Pakistani counterparts following a reported violation of the ceasefire pact along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir.

The ceasefire pact was signed by the two armies on November 25 2003.

In violation of the ceasefire, Pakistan forces fired around 60 rounds at Indian forces at the LoC along Tangdhar and Kupwara villages in J and K. This is in total violation of the ceasefire agreement between the two countries.

According to sources, this was not a cover firing for any attempt to push in terrorists. It was targeted straight at the forward Indian post.

Around eight to ten mortar bombs were also fired at the post but there were no causalities.
