Nagaland: Inderjit Singh visits Mokokchung

Kohima, May 13: Union Minister of State for Defence Production Rao Inderjit Singh today arrived at Mokokchung on the second day of his three-day visit to Nagaland.

Defence sources here said the Minister will meet the district administration officials as well as other groups of people to take stock of the situation in the district.

The Minister will leave for Mon and Tuensang tomorrow, where he will have a series of meetings with state government officials and public leaders.

Mr Singh, who arrived at Dimapur yesterday, left for the three Corps in Rangapahar near Dimapur, and reviewed the defence scenario of Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and South Assam - the areas under the jurisdiction of the three Corps - with the GOC Lt Gen M S Dadwal and other top Army brass.

The Minister was also briefed about the security situation in the areas and the activities of the Army under Civic Action Programme for the benefit of the people, especially in the remote areas of the region.

The Minister will leave for New Delhi tomorrow, the sources said.
