Two arrested with 42 bags of poppy husk
Kapurthala, May 13 (UNI) Police today recovered 42 bags of poppy husk from a truck at a check-post on Kapurthala-Fattudhinga road in the district.
SSP Rakesh Aggarwal told media persons that a police party at the check post near village Fattudhinga intercepted a truck and on its search recovered 42 bags of poppy husk valued at Rs 20 lakh and arrested two occupants identified as Balkar Singh and Dinesh Kumar while their third accomplice Karnail Singh managed to flee.
The police said the accused had brought the poppy husk from the Madhya Pardesh for selling it in Punjab.
Police has registered a case and impounded the truck while search was on to arrest the third accused.
