Terror strikes Jaipur; 45 to 50 feared killed in serial blasts
Jaipur, May 13 (UNI) An estimated 45 to 50 people were feared killed and scores injured in six powerful serial blasts which ripped through different parts in the walled city here this evening.
According to hospital sources, around 45 to 50 people have been feared perished and several others were being treated at the SMS Hospital.
The death toll might be more than the given figure, a hospital spokesman told UNI.
According to police sources, the blasts occurred in short intervals between 1935 hrs and 1945 hrs near religious places in Chandpol, Hawamahal, Sanganeri Gate, near City Kotwali, Maniharon Ka Rasta and LMB Hotel Johri Bazar areas.
At least three blasts took place near religious places where a large number of devotees were present to offer obeisance.
The nature of bombs and explosives could not be ascertained immediately.
Panic gripped the entire walled city after the blasts and people started running helter skelter in panic for cover.
Traffic gridlocks were witnessed at several points.
It is for the first time that the Pink City came under terror radar.
