Tata Sky crosses two million mark

Mumbai, May 13 (UNI) Leading Direct-to-Home (DTH) Pay TV service provider Tata Sky has crossed a major milestone of signing up over two million subscribers within a period of 20 months.

NDS, a leading provider of technology solutions for digital Pay TV, in a release issued here said Tata Sky provided advanced services and exceptional viewing quality to subscribers, protected and powered by a suite of NDS solutions including its VideoGuard conditional access and an advanced electronic programme guide.

Tata Sky's Pay TV platform is supported by NDS staff in New Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore, ensuring continuing quality of service and development of new, exciting solutions for future implementation. NDS' world-leading solutions play a pivotal role in providing Tata Sky with a platform to acquire subscribers and maintain customer loyalty through innovative products.

Incorporated in 2004, Tata Sky is a joint venture between the TATA Group and STAR. Tata Sky launched its DTH operation in 2006 and has been the fastest growing Pay TV platform in India. Tata Sky has changed the Pay TV viewing experience in the rapidly expanding Indian market. This is reflected in the dramatic growth of its business to two million subscribers within 20 months.
