Congress leaders are behaving like 'pets': BJP
New Delhi, May 13 (UNI) Taking a dig at Human Resource Development Minister Arjun Singh's 'rhetoric' of projecting UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi's MP-son, Rahul, as future prime minister, the BJP today said it did not behove senior Congress leaders to behave like 'pets'.
"In India democracy has matured and these senior leaders should stop behaving like 'pets', BJP spokesman Rajiv Pratap Rudy said, without naming Mr Arjun Singh.
He, however, refused to translate 'pets' into Hindi when pressed by mediapersons at the party's daily briefing.
"Democracy does not recognise such behaviour," he said.
Mr Rudy's comments were apparently in response to Mr Arjun Singh's statement describing himself as 'loyalist' to the Congress High Command a day after having been cold-shouldered by Ms Gandhi at his book release function.
