Congress government in Goa not stable: D'Souza
Panaji, May 13 (UNI) Goa NCP unit president Dr Wilfred D'Souza today said the Congress government in the state, led by Digamber Kamat, was not stable.
Addressing mediapersons here, Mr D'Souza said the Congress, a ruling coalition partner in the state, had made a lot of promises but failed to fulfil them.
Reacting to the Goa Pradesh Congress Comittee (GPCC) President Francisco Sardinha's statement yesterday that IT Minister Dayanand Narvekar should be stripped of the Finance portfolio, he said it was wrong and questioned how the GPCC, president could make such a statement.
Dr D'Souza, while circulating a newspaper clipping to mediapersons, clarified that the decision to strip the finanace portfolio from Mr Narvekar was not discussed in the NCP-Congress coordination committee meeting on February 5.
He said the party high command has told him not to raise this issue now, as the Congress is fighting state assembly elections in neighbouring Karnataka. It will raise the issue after the elections, he added.
