Kolhapur, May 13 (UNI) People's Republican Party chief Jogendra Kavade today alleged that the ruling Congress-NCP combine was more communal than BJP-Shiv Sena.
Addressing a news conference here, Mr Kavde alleged that the Congress-NCP combine had committed about 34 per cent atrocities on dalits due to non-implementation of the Atrocity Act.
He said Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray was opposing 'Chhat Puja' by North Indians in Mumbai, while not opposing staging of 'Dandiya' by Gujaratis there. This was nothing but a ploy for political survival, he said.
Mr Kavade said taking into consideration the state assembly elections next year, their focus would be on unity among 'Ambedkarvadi' factions, rather than forming any alliances with the Congress-NCP combine or BJP-Sena alliance, he added.
