Jaipur, May 13 (UNI) In a desperate bid to draw the government's attention to their demand, four agitating para teachers today climbed up the top of a huge overhead water tank here.
The para teachers, who were appointed on contract basis, by previous Gehlot Government, have been staging a dharna at the Collectorate office here for past several days to press on the demand of regularisation of their service.
Four of the agitating teachers, including two female teachers, climbed up the water tank in Mohan Nagar locality here, threatening to commit suicide by jumping down in protest against the State Government's ''apathy'' to their demand.
Large number of onlookers soon gathered at the spot, followed by police.
The officials had to make efforts for over an hour to persuade them to come down and hold talks with the authorities on the demands, assuring them that their memorandum of demands would be forwarded to the Chief Secretary.
