Watson shine as Rajasthan Royals thrash Delhi by three wickets

Jaipur,May 11 (UNI) A magnificent 74 runs off 40 balls knock by Shane Watson helped Rajasthan Royals beat Delhi Daredevils by three wickets in the second round of IPL cricket match at the SMS stadium here tonight.

Asked to bat first, Delhi Daredevils set a victory target of 157 for Rajasthan Royals as they made 156 for 7 in 20 overs with Gautam Gambhir 31 off 23 balls and Pervez Mahroof scoring 39 off only 16 balls.

Rajasthan Royals overhauled the score losing seven wickets in 19.5 overs. Shane Watson, who took 2 for 21, blasted 74 runs off 40 balls with five fours and as many sixes.

Rajassthan Royals has thus avenged their defeat against Dekhi in the first round. This is the seventh Rajasthan Royals victory in nine matches they have played so far and they continued to be on top in the table. They now needed only one more victory to ensure their entry into the semi final. Delhi Daredevils has suffered fourth defeat in 8 matches.
