Three arrested for possessing countrymade gun
Karur, May 12 (UNI) Police arrested three persons on the charge of possessing an unlicensed countrymade gun and some explosives at Erichalur Village near here last night.
According to police a prohibition enforcement wing party on routine patrol duty found them repairing a countrymade gun.
Later, they were handed over to Thogalamai police station. During inquiry, Pattam, a gypsy residing at Narikoravar Colony at Athanur in Thanjavur district approached Sankan of Perur near here, said to be a country made gun expert, for repairing his gun. Sankari took him to Perumal of Erichalur and all the three were trying to set right the gun.
All the three were later remanded to judicial custody, police said.
