Bangalore, May 12 (UNI) Repoll in four Assembly constituencies that went to poll for polls in the first phase of Karnataka Assembly elections, began here today.
Polling on Saturday was suspended in Shivajinagar, Ramanagaram, Malleswaram and Gandhinagar Assembly constituencies following technical snag in Electronic Voting Machines.
As officials could not take out the number of votes polled in mock drill, the repolling was ordered.
Repolling were held in Jeevanjyothi school booth in Malleswaram, RBNMS First Grade college in Shivajinagar, Gandhi Sevashrama, Gandhi Nagar, and in booth number 46 in Ramnagaram from where former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy was seeking re-election.
Chief Electoral Officer M N Vidyashankar said repoll was announced through loudspeakers in autorickshaws and people were turning out at the booths to cast their votes.
