Mithali Raj becomes first Indian to score 3000 runs in ODI

New Delhi, May 12 (UNI) As Mithali Raj led India to its fourth successive Asia Cup title, she also achieved a personal milestone and became the first Indian woman player to score 3000 runs in one-day internationals.

Mithali, during her impressive 72-ball 66 runs' innings in the final of the Asia Cup yesterday against Sri Lanka notched the feet to lead India to 177-run victory.

She also became the world's fifth highest run-getter in the ODIs.

The 25-year-old Mithali, who started her career in June 1999, has represented India in 98 ODIs. She has scored 3002 runs at an impressive average of 46.90 which also includes two centuries and 23 half centuries with a career best score of 114.

Apart from her good performances in ODIs, Mithali has also scored 572 runs in eight Tests at an average of 52 with a career best of 214.

Australia's Belinda Clark with 4884 runs in 118 matches, leads the list of highest run-getters in ODIs.
