Hot weather forecast for Tripura
Agartala, May 12 (UNI) The National Centre Medium Range Weather Forecasting (NCMRWF) and Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast that the weather in Tripura would remain mainly hot and humid over the next week.
Met officials here said rainfall might occur over isolated places in the later part of the week with south easterly winds blowng over the region. However, it will not give much respite from the heat and both the day and night temperatures might increase further.
Meanwhile, the Agromet Advisory Bulletin of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) here stated that scattered rain during the past few days had replenished the soil's moisture, which was under tremendous moisture stress earlier due to sparse rainfall, adding that this would help agriculture.
The average highest temperature of the state was recorded at 35 degrees Celsius and humidity was recorded 87 per cent in the past 24 hours in the state, the report stated.
