Mysore, May 12 (UNI) The Mysore district administration is all set to create a history by making available the Assembly election results through SMS on May 25 when counting of votes polled on May 10 will be taken up.
Thanks mainly to the Deputy Commissioner P Manivannan, who is also the District Election officer, for his innovative idea.
Mr Manivannan told newsmen here that it was contemplating to have tie-up with various services providers to send updated SMS as the counting would be in progress on May 25.
He said that for the first time the counting of votes in all the 11 constituencies in the district would be beamed live on big screens put up at respective taluk Headquarters.
Mr Manivannan said that it was also proposed to webcast live the counting process. "If we succeed it would be another milestone achieved in the history of elections in the country. The district had already launched a website www.mysoreelection,2008, primarily designed to provide all election related information and it was significant to know whopping number of 14.98 lakh hits were received in a span of three weeks."
