Kakinada, May 12 (UNI) East Godavari District is progressing well in all spheres, except housing and this can be attributed to the high cost of land and court litigation, Panchayat Raj and the District in-Charge Minister J C Diwakara Reddy said today.
Addressing a meeting, organised for the ''government's rededication to the peoples' welfare'' here, Mr Reddy said all efforts were being made to overcome hurdles and complete construction of the houses as scheduled.
All the incomplete houses, under Indiramma phase-one and two, would be completed within a couple of months.
He claimed that Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy had made all impossible tasks as possible and the 'Jalayagnam' was a glaring example.
Mr Reddy also claimed that 90 per cent of the people in the state were benefitted either by one scheme or the other initiated by the Chief Minister.
