Both KKR and DD coaches ooze confidence

Kolkata, May 12 (UNI) Rival coaches today exuded confidence over their boys as Kolkata Knight Riders take on struggling Delhi Daredevils in their first encounter in the IPL at Eden Gardens tomorrow.

Delhi Daredavils coach Greg Shipperd today said his boys were keen to perform well at Eden after conceding defeat in Jaipur yesterday.

He said Jaipur match was a very close one, but fielding lapses and poor bowling cost them two vital points.

Shipperd said Delhi is a combination of youth and experience under the leadership of Virender Sehwag, who has the potential of making a difference if he starts with a bang.

Addressing a news conference, Shipperd said he had no special plan for Pakistani speedster Shoaib Akhtar as speculation was rife that Kolkata might field the controversial bowler.

Shipperd said he was not very much bothered about what the opposition has in store for them as he was telling his boys to win as they are capable of winning the tournament.

He said Akhtar was not as fit as he used to be in his prime time so therefore there was nothing to be afraid of.

There is strong possibility that Kolkata Knight Riders might field Akhtar to contain Sehwag.

KKR coach John Buchanan said though Akhtar was included in 14-member list but a final eleven would be announced before the final hours tomorrow.

Akhtar today bowled well in nets and had trained under physical trainer Adrian Le Roux, Buchanan said.

Buchanan said Delhi match was very crucial for KKR and exuded confidence that his team would maintain the winning spree.

He said Sourav Ganguly and David Hussey were in good form but the batting order at the front was not clicking.
