Ambala , May 11: Armed robbers looted Rs 60,000 from a petrol pump at pistol point near Mullana on the Ambala-Saharanpur, 20 km from here late last night, police today said The robbers who were four in number, had come on two motorcycles. On reaching the filling station, they asked for petrol for their mobikes and as the attendant started supplying the petrol, two of the robbers took out their weapons and asked the attendant to hand over the money.
The attendat resisted their demand and in the ensuing struggle one of the robbers was injured. But they managed to snatch the money bag and escaped alongwith their injured gang member.
On receiving the information, the Superintendent of Police K V Ramanna visited to spot to take stock of the incident.
He later advised the petrol pump owners to have their own security guards if they are to operate their pumps at odd hours in the night.
