Pet dog saves girl from bear in Doddahasala
Kolar, Karnataka, May 11: A pet dog saved the life of a 11-year-old girl after she was attacked by a bear in Doddahasala Village in the district.
District police said Shalini had come out of her farm house to pluck flowers early yesterday morning when she was attacked by a full- grown black bear, which was in a nearby bush, injuring her.
Hearing her wailing, people working in farms nearby rushed to the spot, even as her pet dog came running and attacked the bear and chased it for some distance.
The injured girl had been admitted to a hospital.
The bear was still in the vicinity of the village and the Forest Department officials were alerted, police added.
