Immunization for Japanese Encephalitis

Ambala, May 11: An estimtade four lakh children between the age group from one to 15 years, will be immunized from Japanese Encephalitis.

While giving this information here today DC Mohammad Shayin said that a meeting of senior medical officer and medical officers of the district was held last month under the state Director for Malaria, Dr Satbir Singh Choudhary. The Central Government has already sanctioned the Japanese Encephalitis immunization project for Ambala district after Karnal and Kurukshetra.

He said that a meeting of Health Officers would be held on May 16 at Panchayat Bhawan, Ambala City and similarly high level meeting will be held under the chairmanship of Health Commissioner Navraj Sandhu on May 21 at Chandigarh.

Dr V K Sharma, Civil Surgeon said that children upto 15 years of age suffer from this disease.
