Nagpur, May 11 (UNI) An aero-model that is being claimed to be the biggest in the 150 cc category was formally inaugurated here.
''Though there are bigger aero-models with two or three engines, this model is the first in the 150 cc single-engine category,'' Rajesh Joshi, who designed and assembled the model, said yesterday, while speaking to mediapersons on the occasion.
The aero-model is remote-controlled, within a range of 3,000 feet, approximately 1 km. The intention behind creation of the aero-model is to use it for aerial advertising in the fast growing city.
Mr Joshi said that the 16 feet long plane, having a wingspan of 21 feet, has been constructed within four months, at a cost of around Rs 5 lakh. To keep the weight of the plane low, Joshi has used light-weight plywood, paper, thermocol and a few aluminium rods.
When asked if there was anything novel about the model to get it patented, Mr Joshi answered in affirmative, but he could not give the ''trade secret right away''. ''I have been so busy assembling the plane that there had been no time to plan about patents. But now I'm considering patenting,'' he said.
