Kohima, May 11: The Jalukie police recovered the body of an Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB) jawan between Keyive and Heningkunglwa under Peren district of Nagaland.

Official sources said here today that the IRB jawan, identified as Vikoto Sumi (26), belonging to the ninth battalion of the IRB, was found blindfolded and tied up, with two bullet wounds.

Police suspected that he was abducted and killed and his body was dumped in the area.

Police investigation was on to nab the assailants and ascertain the cause of the killing, the sources said.

The victim was the second IRB personnel killed within a fortnight. On April 25, an IRB jawan was shot dead by NSCN-IM cadres owing to ''mistaken identity'' at Diphupar 'B' village in Dimapur town.
