Kohima, May 10: A team of Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) officials, led by MHA Joint Secretary Naveen Verma, will attend the Cease-Fire Supervisory Board (CFSB) meeting with NSCN(K) representatives at Dimapur today.

Official sources here said the MHA team was sent to Nagaland, following the ongoing inter-factional clashes in the state, especially in and around Dimapur town since last month, in which several NSCN activists as well as civilians were killed and several others wounded.

The NSCN (Unification) and the NSCN-IM had been engaged in inter-factional clashes, leading to widespread bloodshed across Dimapur.

The NSCN-IM and NSCN(K) had signed the Ceasefire Agreement with the Centre in 1997 and 2001 respectively.

However, the newly-formed NSCN (Unification), the breakaway faction of the NSCN-IM, came into existence in November last.

Besides the MHA team led by Mr Verma, today's meeting will be attended by CFSB chairperson Lt Gen R V Kulkarni, who will represent the Centre, Assam Rifles (IGAR-North) Inspector General, CRPF DIG, while the Nagaland government will be represented by the Director General of Police (DGP) and Home Commissioner.
