Shahid Afridi plans charity hospital in Karachi

By Staff

Karachi, May 10 : Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi has reportedly decided to establish a charity hospital in Karachi. Before laving for India to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL), Afridi is learnt to have discussed his plan with his close friends.

According to reliable sources, Saleem Saleh, a close friend of Afridi and a reputable builder in Karachi, has agreed to allot a piece of land for this project at Samama City.

The selection and paperwork for the project will start after Afridi's return from India in late June.

Afridi took the decision to construct the hospital after drawing inspiration from his former skipper Inzamamul Haq, who is constructing a hospital in Multan, the Daily Times quoted his close friends as saying.

Afridi has been busy generating funds for the cyclone-affected people of Balochistan for the Islamic Relief Fund. He visited seven states in the US for aid.

Former Pakistan skipper and all-rounder Imran Khan was the first to set the trend of building hospitals by cricketers, by building a state-of-the-art cancer hospital in Karachi in the name of his mother.
