Patna, May 10 (UNI) Union rural development minister and vice- president of Rashtriya Janta Dal(RJD) Raghuvansh Prasad Singh today charged NDA government under Nitish Kumar of failing to spend the money granted by Union government for the welfare of the dalits.
Speaking here in a conference, ''Dalit Ekta Mahasammelan'' Mr Singh said Nitish government was politicising the issue in the name of Dalit and Mahadalit. Inspite of the instructions from Union government the state government has failed to make correction in the BPL list as the NDA government in the state lacks will power to make correction in the right earnest.
The state government also failed to bring transparency in the ongoing construction works of houses under Indira Awas Yojna(IAY) as a result of which the benificieries were living without the pucca houses promissed under provisions of IAY Mr Singh said, adding inspite of lot of promises by Nitish Kumar government to redress the grievances of Dalits it failed to fulfill their aspirations as about one lakh dalits were suffering from Kalaazar in the state with no assistance from the state government.
He also blamed the state government of failing in distributing scholorships among the SC/ST students granted by the Centre to the state government for their educational upliftment.
Also speaking on the occasion Union state tourism minister and party's MP Kanti Singh also charged the state government of failing to spend the money granted by union governmnent for various welfare schemes to fulfill the aspiration of common people instead earning intrest payment from the funds by depositing it into the banks.
Party's state unit president Abdul Bari Siddique, National General Secretary-cum-Spokesman Shyam Rajak and party's MP Ramkripal Yadav also spoke on the occasion.
