Nagaland govt appeals for donations for Mizoram famine-affected

Kohima, May 10 (UNI) The Nagaland government has appealed to all state government employees as well as Ministers and Legislators to donate a certain percentage of their salaries to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund for the Mautam famine-affected people in Mizoram.

In a memorandum issued here today, Nagaland Chief Secretary Lalhuma requested all administrative heads of departments to make voluntary contribution and donations from their salaries for raising funds to aid the famine-affected people in Mizoram.

The people of Mizoram had been facing scarcity of food following the famine resulted by bamboo flowering in the state.
