Bhopal, May 10 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Governor Balram Jhakhar said the youth should be informed of the history of Indian independence struggle to inculcate patriotism, sensitivity and brotherhoodness among them.
Dr Jhakhar was addressing freedom fighters in 'Shahid Smaran Sabha' and Shaurya Samman Samaroh on the occasion of 150th anniversary of 1857 Indian Revolt here today. The programme was presided by Culture and Public Relations Minister Lakshamikant Mishra.
Paying tribute to known and unsung heroes of freedom struggle, Dr Jhakhar said that freedom fighters devoted their lives to the country.
Mr Sharma said books were being published imparting information about the 1857 Indian Revolt and teams were being sent to the villages to enflame the patriotism among people.
''The proposal to provide better health facilities to Freedom Fighters State Disease Aid Scheme is in progress,'' he added.
