Minister ridicules promises made by TDP chief
Hyderabad, May 10 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Congress Legislature Party (CLP) today ridiculed the ''unimaginable'' promises made by opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) President N Chandrababu Naidu in the ongoing 'Meekosam Chaitanya Yatra,' contrary to the ideas mentioned in the book 'Manasulomata' (Plain Speaking) written by him.
Addressing the press conference along with party MLA V V Kumar and MLC R Padmaraju, State Agriculture Minister N Raghuveera Reddy alleged Mr Naidu was making promises only to mislead the people.
The Minister claimed during his nine-year rule, the TDP President did not think about free power supply, implementation of Rs 2 kg rice scheme, liquor prohibition and other welfare schemes and always adopted pro-rich policies, forgetting the welfare of common and poor people in the state.
Stating that the Chief Minister had initiated several welfare and development schemes like free power supply and construction of houses for the poor, Mr Reddy said other states were trying to replicate the schemes implemented by the Andhra Pradesh Government.
The people of state would not believe Mr Naidu's statements and teach him a lesson at an appropriate time.
He also ridiculed Telangana Rastra Samithi (TRS) President K Chandrasekhara Rao's 'sudden friendship' with the International Peace Foundation Head K A Paul, who, he alleged, was 'misleading the people.
