Jagmeet, Manjeet to lead UT wrestlers in Junior Nationals

Chandigarh, May 10 (UNI) Jagmeet Singh of DAV College, Sector 10 and Manjeet Rani of Guru Gobind Singh College, Sector 26 will lead Chandigarh men's and women's teams, respectively, in the 27th Freestyle and Greco-Roman style and 10th Female Junior National Wrestling Championships to be held at Jagannath Puri (Orissa) from May 22 to 25.

Announcing the team here today, after selection final trials held at the Wrestling Coaching Centre, Chandigarh Wrestling Association general secretary Darshan Singh said selection was made from the 40 probables who attended the coaching camp.

Chandigarh would be fielding A and B teams in Greco-Roman and one team in Freestyle (boys) and one freestyle team (girls). A total of 32 wrestlers will represent Chandigarh in Jagannath Puri Junior Nationals.

6 feet and 10 inches tall Jagmeet Singh has recently challenged World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) performer 'The Great Khali' (Dalip Singh Rana) to fight him any where in the world. In case 'The Khali' beat Jagmeet, the 18-year-old Chandigarh trainee will give him Rs 5 lakh.
