Imkong denies NSCN(K)'s allegations
Kohima, May 10 (UNI) Leader of the Opposition in the Nagaland Assembly I Imkong today refuted allegations levelled by the NSCN(K) that he paid a bribe of Rs five Crore to NSCN-IM general secretary Th Muivah in December last.
In a statement issued here, the senior Congress leader, reacting to a news article in a local daily yesterday, said the allegations levelled by NSCN(K) kilonser (minister) Kughalu Mulatonu were false and aimed at tarnishing his public image.
The local newspaper had reported that the kilonser had accused Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and Mr Imkong of funding the NSCN-IM with Rs 15 crore Rs 5 crore respectively, just before the Assembly elections in March.
''I urge Mr Mulatonu to come out with facts and evidence to prove his allegations. This is not the first time he has tried to drag me into controversies,'' the Congress leader said.
