Fatehabad, May 10 (UNI) Former Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala today demanded immediate relief to the villagers, whose houses and agriculture fields were destroyed in a major fire which engulfed more than a dozen villages of Ratia sub-division on May 6.
Mr Chautala, who visited the affected families, the mediapersons that the state government had failed to save the people from the fire and it was the duty of the government to provide compensation to the farmers.
He also criticised the government for registering criminal cases against some farmers in this context. He said that criminal cases against farmers could be made out only if they had burnt someone's property with criminal intention.
