1 foreign pistol, three live cartridges seized
Mumbai, May 10 (UNI) City police seized one foreign pistol and three live cartridges from two people, hailing from Uttar Pradesh, and arrested them late last night.
Assistant Police Inspector Rajendra Kewale told UNI that police had received information that the duo would be coming to deliver the weapon to a party near HPCL (Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited) gate at Chembur in eastern suburb here around 2030 hrs yesterday.
Police laid a trap, nabbed -- Prahlad Prasad (21) and Anees Khan (30) -- and seized the weapons from their possession.
During interrogation, they admitted that they came to deliver the weapon at the cost of Rs 20,000. Already a case has been registered against Prasad with Delhi police, Mr Kewale informed.
The duo were produced before metropolitan magistrate here this morning, who remanded them to four-day police custody, he added.
